On June 24, 2022, SCOTUS (the Supreme Court of The Unites States of America) delivered its ruling in /Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization/. Siding with the State of Mississippi (Dobbs), it ruled in favor of the state's legal ability to ban abortions after the 15th week of pregnancy. This contradicts the existing precedents of /Roe v Wade/ and /Planned Parenthood v. Casey/.

This piece is 60 minutes of harsh noise made as a personal coping mechanism after hearing the news of the ruling.
My hope is that it may be cathartic--and thus helpful towards the ability to continue to fight-- for others.

24vi22 was made with the free virtual modular synthesis program VCV Rack. Mastered in Ableton10.
It takes as its sources: audio footage from Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation hearing, sound generated within VCV and live environmental sounds.

Proceeds will be donated to reproductive rights activism.

What would you say is your position today is on a woman's right to choose?

Mr. Kavanaugh:

It is an important precedent of the Supreme Court. By "it" I mean Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood versus Casey, then reaffirmed many times. Casey is precedent on precedent which is itself and important factor to remember. And I understand the significance of the issue: The jurisprudential issue and I understand the significance, as best I can, I always try and I do hear of the real-world effects of that decision, as I tried to do of all the decisions of my court and of the Supreme Court.
